About Smith Lawn & Landscape

Smith Lawn & Landscape was founded in 2010 by Jordan Smith. Since that time, Smith Lawn & Landscape has gone from a one man operation to one of the largest and prestigious landscape installation and maintenance companies in southern Minnesota. As a company our mission is to exceed the expectations of our customers while providing our clients with a first-class experience that clearly distinguishes us from any other landscape contractor in the area.

Our vision is to emerge as the leading provider of high quality outdoor services in the communities we serve, to become the industry leader as a contractor and as an employer, and to create and maintain a working culture that fosters growth and positivity in order to reach our full potential. Our standards will redefine the landscape industry both in the way it is perceived and in the way that other landscape professionals operate within it.

Our Founder

Jordan started his first green industry business when he was 10 years old, mowing lawns and doing yard work in his neighborhood. He started doing landscape installation in 2007 with a friend from high school, and as a student of Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, he formed Smith Lawn and Landscape, LLC in 2010. Since that time, with the help of many good friends, he has grown Smith Lawn & Landscape from a one-man operation with a push mower in the trunk of his car into one of the largest landscape installation companies in southern Minnesota. Jordan is very active in the company, working daily with our leadership team on all aspects of the business. Jordan takes pride in his employees, many of whom he considers friends, and the culture around the business that allows those friendships to prosper. 

In his free time, Jordan likes to spend time with his wife Laura, and their four sons. Jordan and his boys enjoy playing at the shop with remote control trucks, bikes and power wheels, riding the Razr and playing in the mud, sand and mulch piles. Jordan, Laura and the kids enjoy spending time with their parents/grandparents who live nearby in Mankato and New Ulm.
